Almost 80 students were locked out of NOUN Abeokuta centre and denied entry into the school on 14th September 2020  for arriving late.

When we asked some of the students who were locked out, they gave us the responses below:

We were late by nine minutes and found the gate locked and were sent back home,” said a 400level student who declined to be named for fear of victimization

This is not serving any purpose because we are losing out money, stress, and time.

This is my first POP exam and I’m staying very far from the study centre, this is very frustrating and annoying

A student added that he was frustrated by the lock-outs and called upon the management to put a stop to this practice. 

W advise students from each of the Noun centres to go for their exams on time to avoid being locked out of school. 

Below is the new 2020_1 Examination rules:

2020_1 EXAMINATION RULES

1) MANAGEMENT HAS CANCELLED THE THIRTY (30) MINUTES GRACE FOR LATE COMERS TO EXAMS.

2) CANDIDATES ARE TO ARRIVE 30 MINUTES TO THE SCHEDULED TIME: 7.30AM FOR 8.00AM, 11.00AM FOR 11.30AM
AND 2.00PM FOR 2.30PM PAPERS.

3) VISITING STUDENTS ARE RESTRICTED TO ONLY PARAMILITARY OFFICERS, WITH EVIDENCE.

4) CANDIDATES CAUGHT CHEATING DURING EXAMINATION SESSIONS ARE TO BE SERVED IMMEDIATELY WITH INVITATION
LETTERS TO FACE EXAMINATION MISCONDUCT PANEL MEETING.

5) NO STUDENT WILL BE ALLOWED INTO THE EXAMINATION HALL WITHOUT EXAMINATION CLEARANCE DULY SIGNED & LAMINATED

6) NURSING MOTHERS MAY BE ALLOWED TO TAKE THE EXAMINATIONS IN SUCH A WAY THAT THEIR CHILDREN DO NOT DISTURB OTHER CANDIDATES.

7) MAIN GATES TO THE CENTRE SHALL BE LOCKED 30 MINUTES TO THE COMMENCEMENT OF EACH EXAMINATION.

8) COMPLIANCE WITH COVID-19 PROTOCOLS IS COMPULSORY.
